My husband and I had a movie marathon this past weekend. We watched the movie series SAW. These movies are not for everyone. ON MY MIND: Retail Etiquette

Ok, so my friends and family know that I am currently working in retail. I just wanted to take a moment to vent about shopping etiquette.

- It's rude to answer your phone while a store associate is helping you. I will either walk away or continue to talk to you as if you were not on the phone.

- Garbage belongs in trash cans not on shelves, in bins, on the floor or behind product. I do not get paid to clean up after you.

-When taking merchandise off a shelf or display, kindly put it back where you found it. Throwing it on the floor is not an ok thing to do. I have more important things to do than clean up after every single person that comes in my department.

- If a store is remodeling their bathrooms, do not throw a hissy because you have to go in a porta potty (with air condition and running water.) Be glad store management provided a facility for you. Oh yes, and the only point your proving by dropping your draws and pooping on the side of the porta potty is that your an ass monkey. (This actually happened in the parking lot at my work) The guy told the maintenance associate to tell management, "Tell them a dog did it!"

I know someone who should get a Pooper Scooper for themselves for Christmas.

- My name is not, "ummm" (clearing of the throat) if you need assistance, just ask politely. I'll be more than happy to assist.

- Plopping merchandise on the counter is not the way to communicate to the sales associate, you want to check out. You should place your items gently on the counter near the register and say, "Would you ring these up for me?" or "I would like to check out at this time" and I shall gladly ring and bag your merchandise so you may be on your merry way.
